About B&C Music

Founded by the mother-daughter duo Bonnie Jarvis and Connie Abrahams, B&C Music first opened its doors in 1985. As long-time residents, Bonnie and Connie set up shop in Historic Downtown Albertville, dedicated to providing the Sand Mountain community with an outlet for their musical needs. Over the years, B&C Music has had the privilege to work with accomplished artists from across the Southeast, as well as provide emerging new musicians with a home to learn and practice their craft.

After 30 years in its original location, B&C Music suffered the tragic loss of its decades-long home in an electrical fire. With tremendous community support and encouragement, B&C was able to reopen. The store now lives-on happily at its new location in downtown Boaz.

About Connie Abrahams

Sole proprietor since 1989, Connie has an extensive background in the arts. Her love of music began early, first learning to play the piano at the age of six. In school, she played flute for the Albertville High School Marching Band and sung in her church choir. Connie then studied piano teaching techniques (pedagogy), receiving a Bachelors of Music from Auburn University. Auburn is also where she began teaching, instructing private piano lessons for the Music Department. After college, Connie returned to Sand Mountain where she taught private lessons and on-site instruction for various schools throughout the area.

Upon opening B&C Music, Connie continued teaching lessons for piano, woodwinds, and voice. Through the years she has organized, hosted, and participated in piano workshops and clinics, as well as facilitated many company recitals. She is a recently retired member of the American College of Musicians Piano Guild and Alabama Music Teachers Association, including past AMTA District chairman.

Outside of her business, Connie enjoys singing in the Mountain Valley Singers and Snead State Masterworks Chorale. She has also served as the accompanist for the Whole Backstage and Gadsden Theater groups, and as a judge for the Alabama Music Teachers Association Piano Festival.

Connie has two children, Joseph and Sarah, who grew up with B&C Music as their second home. Outside of her musical hobbies, Connie enjoys gardening, animals, crime dramas, and traveling as often as possible.
